Project Work:

Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience in the financial industry

Project Work:

Consultants play an integral role at First Annapolis. At First Annapolis you will:

  • Work on a diverse set of client engagements spanning different industries and geographic markets
  • Manage project teams of peers and analysts to complete client engagements
  • Draft and present client deliverables on each engagement
  • Develop a deep body of expertise in the markets we serve
  • Have the opportunity to take on responsibility for facets of practice area management early in career
  • Work in three to five person teams on most engagements

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Business Administration (or other advanced degree)
  • A strong record of academic and professional achievement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills

Analyst Program

Project Work:

Our Analyst Program provides young professionals the opportunity to play meaningful roles on client engagements in a challenging and fast-paced work environment. Analysts are typically members of every client engagement team with responsibility for completing a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, and competitive analysis. Our Analyst Program is structured to rapidly integrate young professionals into our practice areas where they can develop specialized expertise and contribute to client engagements and business development efforts of the firm. At First Annapolis you will:

  • Work in three to five person teams on client engagements
  • Conduct market and competitive research for leading financial institutions and payment networks to assist them in developing their overall business strategies and growth opportunities
  • Assist emerging payment and technology companies develop business cases and implementation plans to facilitate successful new product initiatives
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline such as finance or economics with a record of superior academic performance
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with an ability to synthesize findings in a written format
  • Strong technical skills with fluency in Excel, PowerPoint and other software packages
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Solid understanding of basic finance concepts such as net present value and discounted cash flow analysis and experience in developing financial models
  • Ability to be a self starter and to work in a deadline-driven team environment
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • (Optional) Foreign language skills, which, while not a necessity, are highly valued
  • (Optional) Experience with statistical analysis packages such as SPSS as well as other types of programming such as Visual Basic
  • (Optional) Experience in the financial services industry

Internship Candidates

Project Work:

First Annapolis offers summer internships to undergraduate students who have the interest in and potential to join our Analyst program upon graduation.  As such, interns are part of our Analyst Program and are generally given the same responsibilities as analysts. Highlights of the Intern Program include:

  • Intense 12 week work experience usually in the May-August timeframe
  • Practical, client-focused assignments that are deadline-driven
  • Collaboration with professionals at all levels of the organization
  • Interaction with senior leadership team
  • Paired with Analysts and integrated into three to five person project teams to support client engagements and learn more about our Analyst Program 

Background:

  • Approximately 40% of our Analysts were recruited through our intern program
  • Recent intern assignments include evaluating strategic implications of new legislation, completing field research on retailer-based card programs, compiling economic data to identify trends in consumer spending and behaviors
  • Recent internal project work includes completing a best practices review of our website and executing research in support of our client newsletter

Qualifications:

  • Completion of at least three years of specialized study towards a Bachelor's degree with a record of superior academic performance
  • Demonstrated interest in consulting and/or consumer financial services
  • Coursework in economics, finance, or accounting
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong PC skills with fluency in Excel and PowerPoint
